Maarten Hogenhuis, altsaxofonist en lid van Young VIP 2013 Reinier Baas & The More Socially Relevant Jazz Music Ensemble, heeft op 7 april jongstleden in het Bimhuis de Keep an Eye International Jazz Award 2013 gewonnen. Tweede werd Juilliard Jazz Artist Diploma Ensemble van de Juilliard School of Music New York.

Three bands from US conservatories and one CvA bands competed on April 1st in the final in April 7th to a packed Bimhuis. Maarten Hogenhuis Trio, formed by CvA students Maarten Hogenhuis, alto saxophone; Joan Terol Amigó, drums, and Thomas Rolff, double bass, won the Keep an Eye International Jazz Award, an amount of € 2500,-.

Maarten Hogenhuis also won the prize for Best Soloist, participation in the CvA Summer Jazz Workshop June 2013.

Runner-up was Juilliard Jazz Artist Diploma Ensemble from Juilliard School of Music New York, they won € 1250,-. They also won the prize for Best Arrangement of an Ellington Song, € 1.000,-.
